About the Artist
Pamela Jean Doe (Kaelber) was born in Woodbury, New Jersey and raised, since age 3, in the small town of Damascus Maryland. Since an early age art projects were her passion, Her parents made it their mission, to keep her stocked with art supplies and signed up for classes.
After graduating from Damascus High School in 1977, Pam went to the University of Maryland, College Park, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. She worked as a draftsman and designer for an engineering company, an architect, and a structural engineering firm, all while getting married, settling in Jefferson, MD, and having three beautiful daughters. During these homemaking years, Pam's artistic passions often took the path of more practical forms, like sewing little dresses and drapery, gardening, to painting walls, furniture and elementary school bulletin boards. Happily married to her husband Don for 27 years now, Pam enjoys boating on the Chesapeake Bay out of Baltimore, MD, cooking, gardening, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and painting.
For the past ten years, Pam has been able to devote more of her time to the pursuit of painting in both oil and watercolor. Much of Pam's inspiration comes from her summers on their boat and other travels. She likes exploring the effects light has on all objects and interpreting them in paint, whether it's a fresh fruit still life, or a floppy eared dog.
